Introduction of Our LCD products

Monochrome Graphic LCD Modules offer the widest, most comprehensive choice of formats to fit your mechanical and optical requirements. There are many LCD Module formats - high-brightness negative mode , Standard backlight options of low-power electroluminescent, LED , low profile edge light options for thinner displays. LCD Modules are available with many different LCD Module combinations. We have the display for your application. If you cannot find a standard format that meets your requirements then a custom design service is available.

Graphic LCD Module displays use Super Twisted Nematic (STN) and Film Compensated STN (FSTN) technology. They are a very popular, flexible and relatively inexpensive display solution for a variety of applications. Graphic displays allow the user to individually control each display pixel. This independent pixel control allows the user to display both text and pictures simultaneously. The Graphic Modules offer a variety of easy-to-use digital parallel data interfaces, from raw row and column pixel data conversion, to complete embedded graphic control subsystems with memory. Pacific Display Devices offers many graphic resolutions and controller options to choose from allowing greater design creativity.

TFT Displays short for thin film transistor, a type of LCD flat-panel display screen, in which each pixel is controlled by from one to four transistors. The TFT technology provides the best resolution of all the flat-panel techniques, but it is also the most expensive. TFT screens are sometimes called active-matrix LCDs.
Today TFT displays are used in wide range of devices that require electronic display panel of a high quality and resolution.

OLED Displays has many advantages over traditional displays. They function without the need for back lighting, resulting in deeper black levels and can be thinner and lighter than liquid crystal displays. In low ambient light conditions such as dark rooms, an OLED screen can achieve a higher contrast ratio than an LCD using either cold cathode fluorescent lamps or the more recently developed LED backlight.
They also benefit from faster response times, improved contrast and brightness levels, wide viewing angles and better power efficiency.

Character LCD Modules
are Alpha-Numeric Dot Matrix LCD displays use Super Twisted Nematic (STN) and Film Compensated STN (FSTN) technology. They have all of the driving and control circuitry packaged with the LCD glass, providing an easy to use digital interface to the user. The characters displayed usually have a fixed 5x7 pixel matrix used to display alpha-numeric text. The text characters displayed by these modules are controlled, and refreshed by, the LCD Character Module so the user only needs to send simple ASCII characters to the Modules internal RAM. Pacific Display Devices offers Character LCD Modules from 1 line by 8 characters, to 4 lines by 40 characters.
Alphanumeric types give you plenty to chose from: Standard backlight options of low-power electroluminescent, high-brightness, LED or CFL backlights, low profile edge light options for thinner displays. Screens can be manufactured reflective and have STN LCD fluid, other Transflective or Transmissive backlit options are available. Minimum order quantities do not normally apply to these parts and orders can be scheduled to meet your needs unlike other LCD module manufacturers.

Vacuum Fluorescent Display (VFD) is a display device used commonly on consumer-electronics equipment such as car radios and white goods such as microwave ovens. Unlike liquid crystal displays, a VFD emits a very bright light with clear contrast and can easily support display elements of various colors.
Besides brightness, VFDs have the advantages of being rugged, inexpensive, and easily configured to display a wide variety of customized messages. Another advantage is that unlike LCDs, VFD's are not limited by the response of rearranging liquid crystals and are therefore able to function normally in sub-zero temperatures, making them ideal for outdoor devices in cold climates. VFDs also offer high contrast ratio, very wide viewing angles resulting in a sharp, high definition image.

A Touch Panel or Touchscreen is a touch-sensitive transparent screen mounted in front of an LCD. It provides a way for a person to interact with image on the display. Typically the system will display several icons on the LCD and expect the user to select one by touching it. The touch causes a measurable phenomenon which is converted by a controller IC into screen coordinates which are sent into the system. The system then determines which icon was selected and takes appropriate action. The Touch Screen and Touch Panel is the same thing and are interchangeable.
P&A supply wide range of touch screens that are used in industrial applications. Small TN and STN LCDs are well suited for handheld devices, where interaction is required but keyboards are impractical, touchscreens offer the perfect solution. Our LCD panels manufacturers utilize top LCD panel manufacturing techniques to deliver lower cost than other LCD panel manufacturers.
There are several physical phenomena which can be used to detect a touch including capacitive, infrared, resistive and surface acoustic wave (SAW). Resistive touchscreens are the most common because they are simple, low cost and can be activated by finger tip or any type of stylus. Most of products supplied by P&A future resistive type touch screen. Capacitive technology offers higher transparency at a higher cost. Surface acoustic wave technology requires more border space, more power and a touch by a finger, but gives more durability for public access applications. Among resistive touch screens, the 4 wire method is most common, and the 5 wire less so. 8 wire resistive is a variation on 4 wire and 6 wire and 7 wire are variants of the 5 wire method.
